Just exposed to this technology in a news story about a capsized kayaker who was located and rescued through its deployment. I stumbled across this article:

Interesting and probably somewhat promising, given the ubiquity of cell phones...

Does anyone have any experience with Rapid SOS??

I have a nodding acquaintance with Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs, aka 911 call centers) and the technology many of them use to locate callers, but this is new to me. Thanks for the share.
