You did a good job explaining the procedure. I would only add that it´s important that the burr should run over the entire length of the edge. The parts without burr usually stay dull. To my observation it´s a common beginners fault to switch to the other side before the first is really done. That way the parts that are used most frequently don´t get really sharp.
