Getting weather info from the phone or the computer seems like a supplementary method. In an emergency or disaster, power is likely to go out, cell towers are likely to go out. So I don't think of the computer or the phone as something to be relied upon.

Does anyone know this: is the NWS broadcasting system more robust than cell towers?
