Good timing, Teach!

We've got some fishing adventures and at least one day in canoes coming up in the next few week.

I usually start planning my water adventures, by reviewing Canoe Dogs' life jacket ditch kit. There are multiple mentions of it here on ETS and more wisdom on his YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/user/wetcanoedogs

After a refresh, I usually add or change:

*File a trip plan with my hubby or mom
*Life jacket(s) with whistle(s) and strobe light(s) attached.
*PSK and fishing kit in my pocket.
*Bailing bucket and rope throw bag at hand.
*Extra paddle(s).
*More sunscreen and more dry/ziplock bags.
*Extra preps for a shelter and a brew-up on shore.
*Extra socks and a long-sleeved shirt to change into if needs be.
*Rain gear if the weather forecast calls for it.
*Floating lanyards on cameras
*Dummy string on my glasses
*Ingredients for an impromptu shore lunch caused by good fishing! smile

ETA: FWIW, here's a look at my day tripping EDC kit for a fishing trip a couple of years ago. Not shown are things like life jacket, rain gear, the extra sweater or down vest I mention in the video, etc. I'm still on the hunt for a good backpack set-up and the tackle bag in the video has finally bit the dust, so this will hopefully be the year.
