A few years ago, a forest ranger (probably retired now) of many years
on a documentary or educational show, like OETA PBS or 60 minutes,
recalled how he had faced over 12, or maybe 20 bears.
He simply stood his ground, spread is arms wide, straight out to the side, (I don't remember if he shouted or made any sound),
and
EVERY TIME, the bear simply turned and ambled off.
Does anyone else remember this ?
There were also other various accounts through the last couple centuries of simply stand firm, standing their ground , and the bears, not feeling threatened? , would 'bluff' charge, and then
just walk away at leisure !
Disclaimer: this is mostly ANECDOTAL testimony. The forest ranger was the most "official", but
DO NOT APPROACH A BEAR on account of any information included hear, please! thx!
