I used to carry a Maglight there. But now you can buy LED flashlights the size of your thumb that absolutely blow away a D-cell Maglight. So after those came about, I started carrying an ultra-small fold up umbrella in that pocket. I never use umbrellas, so after a bit I said to myself, "...so why am I carrying one?" Currently I have some first aid supplies in there. You get the correct sized Tylenol bottle and mix whatever pills you want in there (I know, they say never to do that, but I don't listen). I've got some 4x4's and stretch wrap in there. And bandaids. Polysporin opintment. Miscellaneous first aid stuff.
