Just received a new Maratac SS 1xCR123 light from CountyComm. This is not a lightweight; its advertised weight is 72.7 grams which is approx. 3.5 oz. with a battery. It's heavily constructed, the knurling is deep with rounded edges. The light output and beam shape are as described, useful output lumens IMO. I like it, but not for pocket carry. Maybe a smaller flashlight for my truck console; someplace where the weight won't be noticed but the ruggedness would be a good thing.

I carry a Nitecore MT10C, which is at the same price point. It's lighter and goes with me everywhere, with excellent performance. The tradeoff is that it's unlikely to be nearly as rugged as the Maratac stainless steel unit.

For me, EDC is a XTAR WK41. Single AA. Runs on alkalines, NiMH or 14500 LiIon rechargeable (what I use). With the 14500, highest output is 300Lm. With alkaline, max output is 150Lm. I really like the size, perfect for EDC. This is a great little light. I've been carrying it for years.

I've never liked CR123 lights. They're just a little too fat for EDC for me. If I'm going to the plumpness of a CR123 light, I just opt for a LiIon 18650 light instead (the size of two CR123s). My 18650 light is a Nitecore P12. Wonderful light. Too big for EDC pocket carry though, but OK if you want to carry it in a belt holster.

My Thrunite TN-12 is similar to your Nitecore -- both are good lights. The Maratac SS CR123 light is built like a tank though. Lightweight is always better for pocket carry, but there's something to be said for very rugged. The AA version of this light would be nice, but it's been sold out.
