A good suggestion but siphoning gas from a vehicle tank is very difficult these days. I need the spare gas for my generator and/or to extend the range of my vehicles, hence the spare cans.

1 option we are considering is to change to a quieter and propane fueled generator. The upside is that we can carry spare propane bottles in the truck bed but the downside is the generator goes through a 15-20 LBS tank in 8 hrs. Good side is that the propane weighs half of a 5gal can of gas which also powers the gen for 8 hours.
