I think the time to procrastinate is ended.

When I return home next month, I'm opening a bank account with a local bank & switching my direct deposits to it.
I also found an SUV Luggage Rack on EBay to attach to my truck tonneau cover (hard plastic) to carry 5gal gas cans to extend vehicular range of both vehicles.
I will also go ahead with adding a rain gutter system to my porch roof and direct that flow to my rain barrels.

The only other thing to do would be to further beef up food stocks in the camper and to load essentials into my truck so I can diagram what will be stowed where. That would also comprise an updated inventory as well.

from your other thread... an alternative charging system for your daughter's wheel chair might be included.... one motorized chair owner in the area had a mount made for a Honda EU2000.. if stranded, asked for help starting the inverter generator... essentially a hybrid chair

Good idea but I have a generator that is included in our load out. My biggest obstacle has been transporting gas safely outside the vehicle. I just found an exterior mounted cargo rack that I will mount atop of my hard plastic tonneau cover. It has room for quite a few 5 gal gas cans. That installment will require some reinforcement of the tonneau cover and will require the removal of the 5gal gas cans before the tonneau cover can be opened, is my best guess.

Rather than carry gas on the exterior of the vehicle, what are the possibilities if installing a second gas tank? Years ago, I owned a gas guzzling (10 mpg) pickup and the second tank was an optional, fairly cheap and safe option.

A good suggestion but siphoning gas from a vehicle tank is very difficult these days. I need the spare gas for my generator and/or to extend the range of my vehicles, hence the spare cans.

1 option we are considering is to change to a quieter and propane fueled generator. The upside is that we can carry spare propane bottles in the truck bed but the downside is the generator goes through a 15-20 LBS tank in 8 hrs. Good side is that the propane weighs half of a 5gal can of gas which also powers the gen for 8 hours.

Totally get it may not be best option for your situation. But just wanted to clarify that many of the in-bed options come with a gas station type hose and nozzle that can fill other containers/vehicles that stows away when not needed.

Flip switch one way and it is automatic reserve tank, flip the other way and it is mobile filling station, all hidden under toneau.
