I've read on the Error-Net that ZipLoc bags are available in a version w/ a pleated bottom. I have an application for such bags but can't find any local store that has them. They're all the flat-style bags.

Any of you guys seen the pleated types? Which stores?

Further research has yielded a customer service number for Zipocs (800-848-2588). They told me that while they were producing pleated bags for a while, they have ceased to do so.

Reminds me of one of Colin Fletcher's observations: when they make a good piece of gear, stock up, because they'll often quit making it.

Theres a Brand of Bagged Potato Stix (French's), thats at least Common in my Area's Grocery Stores.

It is Essentially the Same Sort of Pleated Ziploc Bag that you are Talking About.

Only it is Not Clear or Transparent. Its one of those Resealable (for Freshness) Bags. This is about 7 Inches High and about 6 Inches Wide. Its Marked as a 7 Ounce Bag. (With its Previous Food Content).

It has perhaps a 1 and a Quarter Inch Deep Pleat on its Bottom.

For Better Identification Purposes, -This Bag is Mostly Blue.

I've been Saving these as I Buy and Eat Them. And Now have perhaps Two Dozen or More.

In Lieu of Being Able to Locate your Conventional Pleated Ziplocs, -This, or perhaps another Food Product that has such a Bag, -Can Perhaps Serve as a Next Best Thing!

Especially if "Visibility of Contents" is Not a Concern or Consideration.

These Potato Sticks Bags have an "Aluminized" Type Interior Surface.

This could Well be either the Equivalent, or the Next Best Thing, -to What you are Looking For.
