This morning my thoughts go to the citizens of Mexico and tourists who are in the path of Hurricane Patricia. Incredible how quickly it went from a tropical storm to a Category 5 hurricane -- the strongest ever recorded by the National Hurricane Center.
I'm presently on vacation at a beach on the U.S. east coast. Cannot imagine being a tourist in another country when something like Patricia hits.
"Patricia experienced a historic rate of intensification between Wednesday night and early Friday morning when its peak winds increased by 140 mph. It morphed from a loosely organized conglomeration of thunderstorms to the planet’s strongest and most wicked class of storm."
We're feeling the remnants of Hurricane Patricia this morning in Lake Charles, La. All we're seeing is slightly higher winds and steady rains of varying intensities. We're maintaining HurCon V.
