Thanks for the informative review. The Solo stove seems to be a robust and useful bit of kit. Personally, I don't think I would have much use for it because a Trangia stove does everything I need on my treks (plus an Esbit pocket stove kept in the survival kit as an emergency backup).

That said, I do see the value of a simple biomass/wood stove in many situations, particularly for more stationary, long-term use in a woodland environment. All types of outdoor stoves have their pros and cons but the wood stove beats them all in terms of fuel availability. So that in itself is a major advantage IMHO.
