Having a few 'extra' handles laying around (that use AA batteries), I got to thinking....dangerous- I know but... they are still usable though not exactly clean enough for human use anymore but.... an older spin brush head with a little polishing paste might make a cheap and serviceable polisher. Haven't tried it yet but thought I'd put it out there.

Regular old toothbrushes are useful too. Gun cleaning, bicycle chain/sprocket cleaning, throttle body cleaning, etc.

If your wife says eww to you saving old toothbrushes just put them in the dishwasher first to sanitize them. The toothbrushes that is, wives don't like it when you put a throttle body in the dishwasher.

Seen some make a carbidizer out of them.

"Oh you did the dish--WHAT IN HEAVEN'S NAME IS THAT AND WHY IS IT IN MY DISHWASHER!"

That is a classic case of lack of proper planning . I can put whatever I want into dishwasher whenever I want. I just need to get it out on time. What she does not know can´t hurt me.
