I love those Altoids tins. I made a small survival kit in one, a sewing kit in another, and filled a third with firestarter (wax and sawdust mixture). My father-in-law even built a ham radio in one. ARe they hard to find out west? It seems they are in every drugstore here in CT.

Altoids are everywhere. The import firm is located in Seattle. Their website even mentions the uses people put the tins to,including survival boxes! I emailed them regarding my attempts to market such a kit. I may actually use Altoid boxes wth their cooperation!

One great commercial site is cabelas. It is a little more expensive than campmor's, but unless it is an identical item, the quality is generally a little higher and the service is perfect.
