whole herd of caribou (at least 143) that had been caught in an avalanche down on the Kenai Peninsula.
Caribou, like humans, probably develop a sense of complacency about the risks they are exposed to, based upon their previous successes of having survived similar exposure (though not identical conditions) many times in their lives
That herd mentality will kill you.
