I also like Fenix AAA lights for EDC. My current fave is the LD02, which features a rear clicky and three light levels. It is just a tad longer than the twisties.....

Thanks for that Hikermor, I just looked at it and it looks very nice. It should take only a couple of days to have it in my hands!

Great minds think alike crazy.

I never did get the hang of reloading a revolver quickly. With all the competition I do my pistol reload is pretty solid.

Until recently CCW in CA was a non-starter in some counties, that may have changed. However, the locking folder I carry varies with what I'm wearing; it could be a Benchmade 710, BM 940 or RSK Mk1 -- it depends. Sometimes I fall back to a Vic' Spartan -- depends. I really like the BM 710,

in addition to a cell phone and bandana... I consider these my EDC... I really like the G42 for a pocket pistol... it can be shot quickly and accurately... something I could not do with my small double action hammer fired .380s.... the 2014 edition of the E05 has 3 light settings.. 8/25/85 lumens

When I had my CCW (outside CA) I carried a G19. I could get a full grip and I like the ammo selection available in 9x19. I also like your BM Ares, nice knife.

On the local news tonight there was a story about a guy who was walking around this week in -40 F windchills. Didn't catch the whole story, but he said he wasn't dressed for the weather because he was just running a quick errand or something. He fell on ice and was knocked out for 4 hours. When he came to, he had severe frostbite in both feet, and he is in the hospital now.

It's an eye opener for me, because even though in winter I always have a parka and a mid-weight coat, hat, scarf, longjohns, gloves, and boots in the vehicle, I actually only wear a fleece vest when I go in to work or run errands, unless it's a blizzard.

The Squirt is cute (I have one) and so is the Streamlight. But I want something more substantial for EDC. I don't carry a multitool, but if I did, it would be my Leatherman Wave. That's too big for my EDC, but may be just perfect for other's situations.

I carry a 3-1/5" bladed folding knife and a single AA-sized LED flashlight (although powered by a Lithium 14500 battery). These are much more substantial, and more useful for me in EDC.

I carry that type of stuff when hiking, but not EDC. Like to the grocery store. I don't realistically expect to have to bivouac and start a fire to purify water in the Safeway vegetable department, of use a mirror to signal for help in the cereal aisle.

A good folding knife
A concealed firearm (where legal) and spare magazine
A good flashlight
A cellphone
A wallet with the typical stuff in it (money, ID, charge cards, etc.)
A pen (optional - you can always save notes on a smart phone)
Foam earplugs (I hate getting stuck in a loud place with ringing ears)

That's my EDC for daily suburban living. A lot more stuff gets added when I'm hiking.

Another suburbia dweller

On body:
Fenix E01
LM Squirt PS4
Zebra F701/F402 frankenpen. Considering getting a pen/stylus combo.
3x5 memo pad
Cell phone
Analog or analog/digital watch
The usual man's ballast: wallet, keys, prescription glasses, wedding band, pocket lint.

Off body (most days):
Hands free ear buds(corded)
Bandana
Sunglasses
Earplugs
My mobile home office
* Various writing and portable office implements.
* Cell phone external battery pack
* Personal organizer
* GID folders

For rural life, I would carry a slightly larger knife like a Victorinox Farmer or a Leatherman juice, a regulated single cell AA or AAA light instead of the direct drive coin cell light like the keymate, and a signalling device (i.e. whistle) of some sort.
