Does anyone know if the Fox "Howler" whistle in Doug's new pocket kit is flat, or at least flatter than the old standby Fox 40 "compact" whistle? I haven't found any profile pics of the new Howler. Thanks!

Overall, it is about the same length if you include the post for the ring and slightly wider even than the Classic, but flatter than the Mini, even if cut down like the one I carry. I would not say it is compact as much as slim. It's designed for use where that flatness is an asset, like a Pocket Survival Pak <img src="images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> or an inflatable life vest, for example.
