there are places where i would belt carry like hiking out West but in canoe country where i can travel around with looking at a map all the time a PLB at hand would be like taking a weapon to the grocery store "just in case". to much Safety Sam" takes the edge off what should be a relaxing,but not easy,two weeks of canoe tripping.
