There is a trendy way of wearing a scarf -- essentially double it and put the two loose ends through the doubled up middle. Your neck is in a noose and once it starts to tighten you can't get out of it. Just one more reason to carry a knife...

I just bought a Smartwool scarf and when I tried it out a friend mentioned the trendy method. Not going to happen... Weather isn't cold enough here for a scarf. Maybe next year in PNW...
