This year's LEGO challenge was to create a robot or other LEGO-based device which would help in emergency preparedness. How cool is that?
Middle Daughter is doing this competition. Her team and three others presented their product ideas to my CERT. This has been very, very good for her and I would urge parents of appropriately-aged children to look into FIRST Lego League.
I really wish more places would reach out to the kids for ideas and implementation of programs. They're just as much a part of the community and they can be a wealth of information from another perspective. Prepared youngsters will be prepared adults!
