(Although I must admit, I had a good giggle when I saw the blow-dart application.)

The most useful aspect of this article is its demonstration that a common article can be put to many uses, although some of them are a bit far-fetched, like the blow gun darts and the essentially ineffective water filters.

When I have been seriously thirsty and faced with untreated water, I have simply drank my fill and let the spaces between my teeth handle the particulate filtering, or I have taken the time to definitively treat the water, either with chemicals or by boiling (preferable)
