if it was real survival it would be "roots and rabbit" and not a cherry pie for Thanksgiving.



i did this a couple years ago but it's much to cold to try this year.a lesson learned is that it takes a lot of fuel to get a oven like that hot.

The Cobb BBQ/Oven looks to be quite fuel efficient (charcoal) for portable garden/back yard cooking. Useful for baking, smoking, grilling, frying etc. It may well complement the Kettle type kettles used for boiling water quite nicely.

I suppose you could always bury the whole thing under a pile of dirt to make it more efficient.

jz..if it was the real thing and not just for fun i would do just that and have a fire under it and not use my gas supply.
