Doug's knives are rarely discounted -- free shipping, too. I feel they are a good value at full price, this just sweetens it.

I have a number of Bark Rivers, but if I could grab only one knife, it would be Doug's MK3 -- it is for me the best balance of capable and comfortable.

My mini-RSK Mk1 is my urban EDC knife. I carry the full-size Mk1 as my non-urban EDC. My two favorite fixed blades are the Mk2 and Mk3 (and I'm not sure which one I like better). If you don't have one, go get one.

I really tried to talk myself into buying the MK3 since it really did seem to be everything I wanted in a knife, but the $35 shipping to Canada just pushed the price a little too high for me.

At the time they had free shipping too and I even emailed them and asked if they'd just discount me the equivalent of the US shipping price from the total but unfortunately they wouldn't ... it seems silly in retrospect, but I think that $8 discount might have pushed me over the edge smile

Oh, well.

If you like, I will sell you mine from Regina. It never gets used. Not even in my bug out bag. I will take a spine sharpened $15 Mora everyday over this.

I deplore the balance. It can't decide if it wants to be a chopper or a slicer. The handle is too short even for my smallish hands and the blade is too deep. On the other hand, I love the steel and the finish. Unfortunately I mangled the sheath a little by cutting off the less used bits. If I could exchange the steel/finish with my better proportioned Les Stroud knife - that would be a great fit!

Thanks for the offer, but I ended up buying a Fallkniven F1 and it completely fills my need for a good fixed blade.

I'm a bit confused. The only 'sale' I could find at that link was on the MK5. Free shipping is good though.

My original post is from ten days ago. The sale probably ended.

Isn't this about the same thing? Looks like they are clearing them out - for twenty-five bucks,it's a great deal.
