I think the utility of the 3 temp scales, Fahrenheit, Celsius (centigrade for old folks) and Kelvin is their relative utility as to the range of scale... 1-100
for weather ... Fahrenheit as the temps usually run between that range 0-100
for science ... Celsius the temp difference between freezing point and boiling point of water... typical lab requirements
for physics and chemistry.. gas laws... Kelvin, as the temp scale is always a positive value
