On a related note, not too far OT; what do people recommend for an antibiotic ointment for FAKs? I have always carried triple ointment, but seems I remember a warning some are allergic to one component. Is this a genuine concern or overblown? What could be carried to safely use if using for someone other than myself?

I carry Neosporin with pain relief, which works well on my little ones to take some of the sting away. None of my family have ever shown signs of allergic reaction to it. I wouldn't give it to someone I didn't know.

I carry original formula Neosporin. What allergic reaction?

Yeah, I do carry something akin to Neosporin but I ain't gonna smear it on every boo-boo. Drug resistance is a serious and growing problem that's exacerbated by indiscriminate use of antibiotics.

Izzy,

...Liquid Skin...

I use a product called New Skin and it lasts several days. It works great for me.

Inspired by this thread I also created a small first aid kit for EDC. It comes in an old nylon pouch from some knife I don't remember, and inside are some basic supplies to patch up minor bleedings and blisters.

I hope it's OK, that I bluntly advertise my new blog here, but I really enjoy this forum and after lurking for years with an occasional post here and there, I will now start to share my EDC and survival equipment with the world.
