Expensive, but perhaps promising.

I do like the concept, but not the price.

But it does not exist!!!

Just vapourware, images and advertising.

The OP is boilerplate. I viewed the identical verbiage on another forum just now.....

How much would a satphone and a PLB together cost?I am not trying to make a point.I have neither and am truely curious.On the other hand would this fall under 'putting all your eggs in one basket"......

Iridium Sat Phone about $1200
PLB about $300

This looks like a nice remake on the original Iridium SD-66K Sat adapter that accepts either an AMPS or GSM 900MHz phone.

I would be interested in knowing:

1) How is power "reserved" or "guaranteed" for PLB operation?
2) Does the PLB functionality operate from a dedicated battery?
3) What is the run time when the PLB is active?
4) Is Sat communication available when the PLB is active?
