I would have to agree. Hunting and gathering is a very specialist activity and the energy balance to survive can be pretty critical depending on the time of year and location. Again the same issue with shelter building and building fires that last long enough to burn through out the night.

Cutting and chopping 6-8 inch diameter by 3-4 feet logs and building a fire base of coals involves a lot of expended energy.

Building a not so water proof shelter again takes a lot of physical activity.

A stove, tarp or tent and a good sleeping bag saves a lot of expended physical activity and minimises calorie intake.

Fishing, trapping etc should also be included in the mix of hunting and gathering but should probably be regarded as supplemental to what food can be carried when bugging out.
