Climbing is dangerous and climbers die on all kinds of grades of climbing routes. It has always kept me one the easy routes, because I usually don´t think a hard route is worth it´s risks. Rescue is useless if you fall dead.

I have had seen/heard people falling on the ground near me when a piton failed, people lowered of the end of ropes and seen many stupid climbing mistakes. Last 4 years of alpine climbing, i had 3 emails informing of somebody in mine national climbing club died.

And i have also made mistakes; I once thought I clipped in on top of a route 1700 feet up on a cliff, have climbed a piece of not so easy alpine terrain without belay due to communication issues, etc.
