The knife is my own design but is now marketed as an EVO Survival Tool by Jensen Elite Blades (Australia). I shoulda copyrighted the design DAMN!!!!!
I realise it is not to everyones likeing (ugly) but please remember it is what I require in a knife.
Blade length is 9''. ATS34 Blade 1/4'' thick chisel ground.
Has a chisel ground blade edge for ease of field sharpening ( important for me)
Its a chopping, cutting digging tool.
Fine cutting is done on the rear curved section of blade, increases cutting performance and control when blade is being used as a draw knife.
Micarta handle secured with epoxy and stainless bolt fasteners. The handle butt is swelled and rounded to aid me in comfort and digging and gives good leverage in chopping.
The sheath is a KYDEX belt sheath held together with chigago screws allowing the sheath to be stripped and cleaned when dirty.
Very functional knife. Cuts well and for digging up "Bush Tucker" it does a great job.
Brute ugly but its design comes from my likeing of the Pommy jungle?survival knife (the heavy bladed one) and the Ghurka Kukri.
I wanted a knife that could cop a fair bitof punishment out in the scrub without snapping bits of, which has happened to me with many popular brand knives.
The only other knife I carry is a swiss army pocket knife or a Leatherman.

Yep, that's one ugly knife. I wouldn't want to rule it out from looks without handling it and doing some work with it. Seems like a bunch of different functionality slammed together in one piece of steel. If you have used it and say it works for all of those functions then I guess I'd have to try it to pass judgement myself but it is one Butt ugly knife! For that much weight and size you don't have a EDC blade but a purpose use blade. As such wouldn't you be better with something like a Mod4 Kinfe + a Gransfors Bruks small hatchet, a laplander folding saw and a Cold Steel Panga machette? Seems as if you don't save much weight having all that rolled into your big knife and each of these individual tools will do a better job at their specific uses than your big brute will do at each of them.

I don't like to carry lots of different blades etc. So this helps to trim that all down. Yes its heavy but when I go out bush I always wear webbing so I don't really notice the weight.
The mod4, is that the pommy military survival Knife????
A big heavy blade???? We call it the D knife in the ADF.
I use to use one until this knife was made for me.
So I have to knives. The big brute, and one of a various number of pocket type knives. Depending on what takes my fancy at the time.

thats a nicely modified Spetznaz survival knife!!! Like it, like it alot..

I was unaware the Spetznaz had a survival knife???
I have been surfing the net but all I come up with is a throwing Shovel!!!! and a Russian survival knife called a NV-1-01.
So I must plead ignorance on that one.
Like I said mine is a bit of everything Brit Mod survival knife, Ghurku Kukri and plain old machette went itno turning this beast out. Lots of advice from the knife maker himself Peter Jensen who may have seen this Spetznaz knife himself perhaps?
But ultimately its a knife I had pictured in my head for some years.

The main thing you need to worry about is that it suits you. It may not be everyones taste but to bad, i like it. It beats carrying around heaps of different blades and saws and axes for different jobs. Well done and it is a shame you didn`t patent it cause I think you`d be on to a winner.

Thats right.
Multi-tasked in one lump of steel.
Great for digging up witchity Grubs or prising mangroves apart for the edible worm inside.
As a digging tool blunting the edge is no drama as the single edge blade is easy to resharpen as needed.
Some gum trees are pretty hard on blades but so far thayhaven't damaged the knife at all when used for chopping.
I havent done too much fine cutting yet. Will give it a try one weekend soon.
