Wow, adrift 420 miles from home in open sea? That's a pretty harsh environment. They did what they could and came through it amazingly well. With a fair portion of luck, sure, but a win is a win.
Interesting how the captain of the tuna boat diverted in their direction because of the birds that were around their skiff. IIRC, a concentration of birds (large enough to show up on radar, as it was in this case) can indicate tuna hunting a bait ball of smaller fish. The birds shallow dive and pick up the strays and the scraps.
