Not sure #434 is a crate axe.

Usually the hammer poll is on the back of the axe head, and sometimes a nail puller hole in the shaft.

I have this thing




Mine has a wooden handle instead of teh rubberized one. I was looking for the rubberized one , but after some use witha coughlan camp hatchet , I changed my mind. The prybar/nail puller end interferes with cutting/chopping wood. The hatchet head is smallish and the protruding prybar head always get in the way. So , I changed my mind about having another one and settled so far with the Coughlan hatchet.

I once hired a guy to chop a tree near my house and he used an axe with a handle similar to that of a tomahawk. I wanted to talk to him into selling it to me but I hesitated ( I don't know why ) and now the guy is gone. So, I agree to the benefit of having the option of making your own handle.
