Just now finished watching the 2012 film "The Impossible" starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor. Very highly recommend.
It's a true story of a family that was staying at one of the tourist resorts when the 2004 Thailand tsunamis hit (killing 250,000 people all around the Indian Ocean).
Anyone living in or ever possibly visiting a potential tsunami zone (such as the U.S. west coast) should see this. The depiction of the tsunami -- from the view of the family -- is stunning. If I were staying at the beach tonight I might have a nightmare.
Tsunami aside, it is also a depiction relative to any disaster in which the chaos of mass casualties will overwhelm hospitals.
It's presently available for purchase and should soon be rentable. I streamed it from Amazon for $15.
