Exactly it Matt. Open the latch and break open the action. Extractors are spring loaded and push the cartridge and shell out a small bit. Fingernails can grab either, gloves....tight leather can sometimes get the shell or the cartridge but just barely. It would be nice if these were extracted a good bit more but they are not.

What would be nice would be if they made the extractors passive and a little longer with an outside activating lever.

Pull the lever part way to bring the cartridge and shotgun hull out a little, or give it a fast pull to eject the shells out completely. The extractor would have a spring to bring it back to battery once you let go of the lever in order to speed up reloading.

Sounds simple enough and the Czechs are good machinists even if not on par with German machinists.

You break the gun open, and there's a kind of lifting piece that pushes up the spent casing. It's OK for the .410, a little tough on the .22 side.
