How does the warranty go? And do the gears cause chaos? Strength (durability)?

I've had a Gerber Legend 800 for about 5 months now and really love it. It's held up well to the thrashing I have given it doing all kinds of stuff. I really like the interchangable jig saw blade.

I bought a pack of 10 blades from my local hardware store. I did have to grind them a little to get them to fit in the housing, but I carry about 8 blades ranging from small metal to large wood.

I took the belt holder the Gerber came with apart and sewed it back together with a small pocket behind the larger pocket where I store the extra blades.

The springloaded handles are a plus also.

I was out in the back yard putting in a raised bed garden and I was constantly using the pliers and changing out the blades to fit the application.

Have fun on your search. I recommend going to a cutlery shop and looking at all your options.

Was in Michigan on Thursday and Friday and found a supplier of Leatherman and SwissTool. Got my hands on both and really like the design and layout of both... but the SwissTool won. Thanks for the adivce here, people... I really appreciate it all.
