Firearms probably evoke as much or more debate than any other issue in our society. I've owned or handled just about every category imaginable; from Broomhandle Mausers to FN FAL battle rifles, black powder Hawkens and even a Greener harpoon rifle (as featured in JAWS.) These days I have a single pistol that evokes horror among combat pistol aficianandos. I am personally weary of the stale debates and cliches thrown out by both sides. Charlton Heston snarling "from my cold dead hands" is no less distastefull than the ignorant Green Party member asking why I owned an Elephant gun: and, when I displayed a 1903 6.5x54 Mannlicher calling me several names. Owning a firearm carries a heavy moral and social responsibility. It is just an object. It's the individual behind it that determines it's impact on society.
