I might buy the buckle, don't know about that whistle or the one with the light and compass.
the buckle seems pretty sturdy. the built in whistle seems Ok for the size but is not very loud.
the other one has a similar sized whistle but seems a bit louder and easier to blow. the compass is small but seems ok for the size. the flashlight is quite bright for the size. I am not fond of button cells though.

These buckles are beginning to appear as original equipment, usually as a sternum strap fastening. One wonders, are they all identical, made by the same manufacturer? Or, more likely, are there different brands, varying somewhat in volume and utility? Does anyone have the faintest??
As far as I've ever been able to ascertain it's only ITW Nexus that makes them. Is it possible that there is some factory full of unscrupulous weasels in China making knock-offs? Sure. But buying packs from reputable manufacturers seems a fairly safe bet you'll be getting the real deal.
And taking a hacksaw to it to remove everything but the whistle leaves you with the smallest whistle on the market.
