I got a question about the stove in this video

a bushcraft breakfast and a pilfering pooch - YouTube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acca8vSJW5U

He started the trangia stove at 3:30

My question is about the can that surrounds the trangia and the other can in which he is cooking:

Are they a commerical cooking set, or a stove that has a name, or do you think they are hmemade/assembled. If they are homemade, how do you get so many holes in a can that look neat and without twisting the can ?

Unfortunately , I don't have an account in U-tube
so I cannot ask the guy about his stove

Actually I have made my own esbit-type stove. But in my case, the pot sits ON TOP of the stove, where I may need a speparate windshield. The neat thing about his stove is that the outer can makes a built-in windshield that conserves heat and fuel. In a way , it is like Hiking Jim's Bobcat system

The outer can with a lot of holes looks to be a "basket" for drying utensils in after dishwashing. At least IKEA sells them and some people have made them in to woodstoves by cutting a door in the side.

The inner can looks like this Stanley cookset: http://www.shopstanley-pmi.com/product/7213. Not absolutely sure, but it's awfully close.

as Herman commented... addition of a side access hole would be a useful addition...a couple of minutes with a Dremel and cut off wheel would give you versitility as to fuel choice... and make it easier to light and extinguish the Trangia and operate the simmer lid
