I am looking for a battery holder that takes 4 AA batteries. (Mainly I don't want my spare to slosh around my camera bag anyway.) Any recommendations?

I'm thinking of something like this:

or this:

The items above are either of the wrong size, or they hold too many batteries.

I have the orange case in your pic and am satisfied. I also have cases from DX.com. I don't have a strong preference, but the ones from DX are cheap enough to lose and not get pissed. I think those orange cost more. I can't remember. I do strongly prefer a holder of 4 or less. Anything more, it feels like wasted space when you get low.

I have the "open" style you are considering. They work quite well. There are also cheapo closed types you often get with a quantity order that aren't quite as secure, but are still adequate for non mobile storage.

This is what I have. So far very durable and dirt cheap.

Les, if you carry foam ear plugs, they could stop the rattle

"Hey, doctor, I think I'm going deaf. I can't even hear myself cough!"

"Here, take this drug!"

"It worked, doctor! Now I can hear myself cough. What did you do?"

"The prescription makes your cough louder!"

JPickett... I use the pill vials for storage only...I keep my hurricane electronics in a plastic roll around tool box...they won't tip in a pill vial, and both terminal ends are protected from accidental contact

never liked the foamy ear plugs... I use the custom moulded ones and double muff when I'm a range officer for a 9x25...

I have in my car this case for AA and the AAA size from the same manufacturer-distributor.

Love 'em. Think I paid last year less than this current price:

1. It's open & dirt gets in it.

2. Energizer Lithium is ever slightly smaller and it rattles up and down just enough to be annoying

3. My biggest concern it there is a tab in each cylinder that keeps the battery from sliding out. There is a gap in Energize Lithium between the positive button top and the battery shell. The gap is covered by the outer printing but the tab puts indents in the printing every time I insert or remove a battery. I'm concerned that the tab will rip through the printing allowing foreign material to damage the battery.

I went back to just using the 4 battery cardboard package.

Edited for clarity
