I've gotten together a neck lanyard. It works well thus far and doesn't clank too much. For those of you who wear EDC neck lanyards, what's the most gear you're comfortable carrying? I have a Mini-Fox 40 whistle, Arc AAA, and REI button compass on mine. I tried to fit my Latshaw Pocket Wrench II on as well, but it's simply too heavy. Felt like I was garroting myself.

I have a modified ACME Tornado 2000, a Photon II and a key to my flat on mine. Thatīs about enough for me. The button compass is a zipper pull on my vest.

I have a neck lanyard with: toy/keyring caribiner Keys modified fox 40 classic arc AAA SAK (the tiny one with the nail file and little blade)
This actually sits in my pocket most of the day, as i am not allowed to wear a neck lanyard at school. When it is on my neck, it does rattle a lot (I have a LOT of keys). I've toyed with the idea of elastic/ranger bands, but it just looks silly <img src="images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

A very small puukko sheath knife with a metal match. If you see the lanyard extending to a holster, it's my M40 Lahti pistol for extreme cold weather. Those antisocial snowmen see it and just melt <img src="images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />.

You're not allowed to wear a neck lanyard?
Where do you go to school, and how could anyone tell if you wear it under your shirt?

When I was in high school, in the late 1970s, the worst that could happen was to be caught smoking in the boys room, and I'm talking about tobacco.

Couple of dog-tags and a p38. I Sharpened the dog-tags and the outer edge of the p38 so I have three decent edges represented there as well. I keep dog-tag silencers on all three - quiets the rattling and protects me from the sharpened edges. I use a ball chain type as the lanyard so I won't be garrotted by it if someone grabs it. The dog-tags carry contact info and a personal motto for inspiration. If I'm alive I am not too bothered by it and the items have use. If I'm dead they will know where to send the corpse. My worst problem with it was that it consistantly works at depillitating my chest. That is uncomfortable enought that I stopped wearing it after 6 months. To be comfortable wearing it I would have to shave my chest and that isn't worth it.
