Extreme temps have been fueling catastrophic wildfires in Australia. We've talked about wildfires before, but check out these photos of a grandmother and grandfather and four young kids who had to ride out a wildfire submerged in what looks like some sort of pond or lake while everything around them burns to the ground. That must've been the scariest thing to go through. I can't believe the grandfather was calm enough to take photos!

And when I say "extreme," I mean it's been so hot that Australia's Bureau of Meteorology has had to add a new color to their temperature maps to accomodate higher forecasted temps that they have never seen before. The new purple zone covers temps up to 129°F (54°C)!
