I tired to balance value vrs performance so no exotics at our place for the 10/22

For deep storage using the Remington Golden Bullet 525 packs. Fairly reliable, good price, can stock enough.Forget price but they had a sale, lucky us,they do OK in my 10/22.

For the reach out rounds I like the Remington Yellow Jacket. 33 gr,truncated conical hollow point, muzzle velocity 1500 fps.

These fire very flat and accurately and reliably from our 10/22. Price is reasonable enough anyhow IMO.

$420/5000 shipping included. No tax to Calif.

AND they are sold out on net yet again (quick search),glad I got em when I did.Took months to find them in stock when we bought.Whats with the .22 shortage of some rounds anyhow?HUGE demand?

Got them here,great service,great price,free shipping,just a customer,no affiliation.YMMV,some people had problems here in the past.

So thats what is working here for us.

CCI Blazer 525 pack from Natchez Shooters Supply... $18.95

they hold 3/8" (5 shot) at 35y from my CMMG dedicated upper with a 6 moa Trijicon reflex not a magnified scope...

if any of your 10/22s have a bull barrel, try a home made harmonic tuner to dial in your ammo... shoot a group, move tuner, shoot a group... till you get the smallest group... on my STC 10/22 I tuned in a 15/16" 10 shot group at 100y with this setup... 1 1/8" aluminum round stock, .930" hole, saw cut, pinch bolt

This is what I've been buying lately:

Eley Black Box (competition use)
CCI Mini-Mags 40gr LRN
CCI CB Short 29gr LRN
Federal Auto Match (my favorite bulk ammo)

I've also got a few boxes of CCI Velocitor 40gr CPHP on hand, but after buying a .17 HMR I've pretty much stopped buying it. The .17 already does a much better job of feeding my need for a high velocity rimfire. It's an amazing little round. grin

.22 Long Rifle:
CCI Mini-Mags (40 gr LRN),
CCI Velocitor (40 gr GD).

IME the 40 gr bullet in the Velocitor holds velocity a bit better than the lighter bullets and the Gold Dot line seem very good and not breaking up.

Downrange velocity is more critical than muzzle V. YMMV

I put about 1 box through my marlin 795 and havent had a single jam/missfire with um. They are accurate as can be in my marlin and feed like a dream. I have a box stashed away in a mason jar that fit entire box of rounds perfectly but thats about it.

I've heard a lot of people say those Remington 525 are not good but I dug out an old box that I bought BC (before children) and ran 200 rounds through my AR7 without an issue. Then I took it apart and cleaned it and ran the rest of the box through.

I've got a handful of Blazer bulk packs, at least a box or two of most everything CCI makes (with more boxes of the MiniMags since those are pretty much a "standard" for me). I guess I don't have "everything" CCI makes really - I don't stock the expensive target offerings or the "green" stuff. But I do have the MiniMags, Velociters, Subsonics, Stingers, Standard Velocities, SGB's, etc. Then I've got a couple dozen bulk packs of the Federal (525 qty each?). And a few bulk packs of the Winchester 555 (don't buy those anymore, but still have some) and a few bulk packs of the Remington (same deal as the Winchester - don't buy these anymore but still have some). I buy when it goes on sale, and keep enough around that I never have to "buy some right now" because I ran out. Believe it or not, I still have some bricks of stuff labeled "Mohawk" that I think is left over from the 70's or 80's (?) - it still shoots very well. Just as accurate and reliable as the new stuff.
