Hello new people!
I've been getting more and more involved with survival for the last 6 months or so and figured it was a good time to join a forum make some new friends.

I'm selling off my sports car that's been my life for the last 4 years and am shopping for something more practical- 4x4 etc. Might sell the Sportster too frown Stocking up on books, BOBs, and everything else associated with prepping.

Seem to have the right frame of mind to survive but to be honest the bug-in/bug-out issue has me baffled.

Well, I've taken up enough space for my first post. Look forward to interacting with you all.

Faith & Friendship,
Pooly

Welcome aboard, GG.

The bug-in/bug-out issue probably will baffle me most right at the moment that I have to decide whether to bug-in or bug-out.

Well, hopefully that situation will never arise.

So what sports car are you getting rid of? I sold my Miata shortly after getting a Honda Element.

Occasionally I'm wistful about the Miata but it was a backpack on wheels and ETS has caused me to feel the need to carry more stuff....

May I suggest a super charged Range Rover. 4x4 with a sports car attitude. cool

And welcome to ETS! I wouldn't worry about creating the perfect BOB. If you're not a camper, a good way to start is to go car camping for a weekend. That'll give you an idea of stuff you'll need to bring.

Pooly,

WELCOME!!! It is a great group here! Lots of experience, knowledge and good thinking. We don't always agree, but are always (at least almost always) polite. You have to make the final decision, but, its YOUR life.

The in / out decision is always hard, but sometimes it is obvious (fire, etc.). Be prepared for both.

LED had a good point to start, my "BOB" is a small breifcase with important papers (backed up by stuff at my sisters 3000 mi away and replicated in the cloud). That is because the rest of the stuff is my canoe camping gear, ready to go for a two week trip. If I can live in the wilderness for two weeks, I can probably go a few days under most conditions.

Respectfully,

Jerry

Its an 04 Chrysler crossfire that has basically been just for shows. Hopefully my son will buy her and keep it in the family.

I was a senior member on www.crossfireforum.org and have spent thousands on this car its one of a kind amongst crossfires and pains me to sell her but its not going to help out much in an emergency situation. Time to move on I guess
