I have uploaded the first installment of the SHOT Show 2004 Report. There are a few rough edges I will sand off and polish early this week, but it's 98% there. This one deals with all the sharp stuff--knives and multi-purpose tools. Lights and the rest will likely have to wait until next weekend.

BTW, I understand and agree with your rationale behind using the manufacturers photos. But I must add that they truly don't compare to images you have supplied in the past. What I've always marveled at was how well you managed to capture critical components or functions in static images. The manufactures should point out how weel your photos work to their market staff. Sexy glossys may attract attention, but functional photos like yours help sell the true product benifts (unless the only benefit is being sexy and glossy <img src="images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> )

My photo editor, Corel PhotoPaint 7, has suddenly started crashing to the point that it is non-functional. Any modification of an image results in a crash. Worked fine yesterday, started up today and won't work. <sigh!> I have done the usual quick fixes, restored from tape backup, ran virus checker, etc., to no avail. You may want check that you have the very, very latest anti virus updates. The latest mydoom variant attacks stored pictures. I believe that it has only started showing up in the last week or so.

Thanks. Always maintain the latest, automatically. Confirmed that. Images are fine, it's program that crashes when trying to do anything to an image. Even if corrupted, restoring should have solved that, but no change.

Thanks for the generous offer. I've tried "remote" before and it's so complicated that it is extremely difficult to manage and the results left all involved not very happy. <img src="images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Will keep it in mind however, as a possible last resort.

it might be a compatability conflict with another program, or if theres image problems maybe your low on ram?

the shot link had some great looking knives that id love to get.

i have a question for everyone about the leatherman tools they are stopping production on.
having never owned one (yeah i know save the flames ) are the old ones superior to the new ones? you know how sometimes the older models are just better to some.

or am i better off just buying the current style tool?
