I was snomobiling in New York state presidents weekend with my family. I was out on a night ride in -24 weather atleast 10 miles from any buildings. We were riding along on two snomobiles when suddenly the light goes out on mine. Well, you can't ride without a light or you will end up going over the edge of the trail in to 3 feet of snow getting stuck or worse and it was too cold to waste time. I was hoping it was just a bulb, but it turned out to be the wiring. So, I was without light. After a few minutes of thought I took out my new streamlight scorpion and some duct tape and made myself a new headlight. Worked great and got me back. That little light came in handy a lot last weekend. I now see a knife, hotspark, and flashlight as my three "never go anywhere without them" tools.

Good to hear you made it back ok and without incident. Could have turned out much worse as you stated. Thanks for letting us know. Take care.

Great Idea and Adaptation! And I Second Stargazer's Sentiment. I would like to Add a 4th Essential though, -And that would be a Whistle. [color:"black"] ScottRezaLogan

Whats funny is I didn't mention that because I have become so accustomed to having one. I have one on my key chain, on my jacket zipper, on my snowmobile keys, everywhere. It's one of those things that is so cheap you buy like 50 of them and put them on everything.
