Marlon Perkins, a palomino, and a griz

Another look at the gun vs bear bangers vs pepper spray debate involving ursine encounters. Note the marine corps raider bowie belt knife. Note the bare (bear) feet.

Yikes! A potential Darwin Award "winner" there!

from wikip:edia:
"Because Walt Disney had fabricated footage of a mass suicide of lemmings in its film White Wilderness,[4] then CBC journalist Bob McKeown asked Marlin Perkins if he had done the same. Perkins, then in his seventies, "firmly asked for the camera to be turned off, then punched a shocked McKeown in the face."

Marlin was maybe a little tougher than I remember him.

Sounds like how Pro Wrestlers respond when asked if things are
staged.

Growing up, I occasionally watched Marlin Perkins on the Wild Kingdom show. I must admit that even back then for an very young and impressionable lad, I did not always agree with the show's concept and the mis-treatment of some animals. However I must say that I was impressionable enough to have Perkins instill into me, the wonders of the "high country" that has shaped and greatly influenced my life.

A lariat is very useful for certain things; this is not one of them.

Marlin and Stan also roped an anaconda and ended up rolling around in the water with it.

starting at about 16:15 into the video.
Somehow, I don't think this was a good idea either.
