Has anyone pre-ordered one of these? Looks like nice upgrade to the AMK Heatsheet. I like the grommets and more durable design.

It is about time! Those orange space blankets were getting hard to find, only green ones around here.

It's hard to see what's new or different about this model as compared to the durable, grommeted ones that have been around for 20 years or so.

Price and weight maybe (11.3oz)? I agree, not an original design or anything. But if its as durable as they claim, it would make a nice addition to my kit.

At first blush they look virtually identical to the venerable Grabber's blanket at twice the price. That said, I'd like to try one to see they've improved the classic design.

I just have trouble finding the old ones in orange sometimes. I use them for my scouts. I don't like to give them subdued colors, makes them harder to track down. Another source would be good.

I agree 100%. I consider myself a "survivor" not a "survivalist". While I can envision a scenario when I'd want to escape detection, probably 98% of the time I'll be hoping to be seen. And yeah, the Orange do seem hard to find.

And I guess that $22 is MSRP- probably they'll be cheaper on the open market.

My question is, what size is it?

Did anyone also notice the new Escape Bivvy, it looks like it may be a next generation of the Thermal Bivvy. They don't state what percent of your body heat it reflects, but it is breathable. That's a huge plus. I have both the Emergency Bivvy and the Thermal Bivvy and have used the Thermal Bivvy multiple times. I must admit, I'm curious about the new Escape Bivvy, but it sure is expensive!
