If you saw my earlier cooking reports, I did some fancier cooking (omelettes) in Cooking Report #1 and Cooking Report #2 -- but I didn't use the Jetboil Sol's "cup." I used a nice MSR Blacklite fry pan.

But, what about the Jetboil Sol's cup? Is it only good for boiling water? Or can it do a little more?

I thought I'd find out.

Please join me for Aluminum JetBoil Sol -- Cooking in the Cup as I try the aluminum Jetboil Sol's cup out on a hopefully representative trail type meal.

That looks like a handy lil set up. I may look into one for hiking in the mountains and on the mesa.

It really is a nice set up. If you got a JetBoil Sol, you'd be pretty much set for most everything except for strong winds or cold below 20F (at sea level, subtract 2F for every 1000 feet above sea level).

It's nice system and comes with some wind resistance. Having that wind resistance (which most canister stoves don't have), is a big plus I think for most users.
