I keep a lot of my stuff in small zipper cases/bags, I tend to like those better than the hard plastic cases even if they might not be as strong. I've customized a couple but am not much for sewing. Anyone make or know of a place that will make one-off custom cases. Close examples are small pda cases or the little computer toolkits found in the pc shops or office supply stores. I want a small case that unzips and unfold with some pockets made to fit some gear. I know some backpackers make some of their own gear so maybe I could pay someone to make me a couple things.

If you lay out the specs., provide a drawing, and supply the type of material you want, any tailor with a heavy duty sewing machine should be able to do a soft case for you.

If you are talking hard cases, setup & tooling is going to make a one-off case extremely expensive. For a hard case it would be better to buy a case the size you want and then subdivide it with spacing bars.

Good luck!

You should check out Blackhawk Industries. They make excelent pouches and gear. They even make organizer pouches that fit in cargo pockets of military BDU's.The company was founded by a Navy SEAL who was dissatisfied with the quality of issue gear.I own some of their stuff and I can attest that any of it is truly over built and it will last possibly longer than you.

You might also try ace case. I have purchased several of their products, and they are first rate. I believe that they will do custom work also...
