Is anyone having problems with the ETS search box in the upper right-hand of the forum? A user has reported they get the following error:
Not Found
The requested URL /search.htm was not found on this server.
Apache Server at www.equipped.org Port 80

I don't get this error when I tried so I ask some of you to do a search and tell me if it works. Sidenote: your search word must be longer than 3 letters.

Thanks,
-Blast

Thanks for testing it, everyone. The user emptied their cache along with some other spring cleaning, now it works.

Hey Blast, my search feature is fine but the little blinking envelope at the top of my screen keeps blinking even though I have no mail. Any way to fix this? It's starting to drive me nuts and unfortunately it's not a far drive. I keep getting all giddy thinking I have a PM and when I clicks the envelop my quota says 0/25.

I can't explain why this little envelope is bothering me so much, but this iPhone is about to take a ride out the window soon. mad

If you decide to do that, package it up and put it through the post office window and I'll punish it for you laugh.

All levity aside, I cannot replicate your PM indicator issue on my laptop or iPhone.

Thats probably a browser cache too, keeping the stale page data with the message icon in it.

There is a reason the iphone has an app for every site, the browser sucks smile

Blast,

I am the one that reported the search problem. Shortly after I got it working, it stopped working again. I am still getting the same errors as of today 4/3/2012.

Using Google Chrome the error is:
Not Found
The requested URL /search.htm was not found on this server.
Apache Server at www.equipped.org Port 80

The URL that cannot be found is:
http://www.equipped.org/search.htm

---------------------------
Using IE8 the error is:
"The web page cannot be found"

The URL that cannot be found is:
http://forums.equipped.org/cgi-bin/etslinklaunch.pl

----------------------------
To be clear, this happens when I go to this URL:
http://forums.equipped.org/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=1&page=1

Then I select Search ETS from the list and then press the "Go" button.

It does seem odd that the missing URL is different for different browsers.

I also tried both browsers on another PC and I get the same errors.

I can't imagine I am the only one getting these errors--this does seem to be an issue on the server. Perhaps others are not doing the same thing I am.

Nope. I have the opposite - 8 pages for practically everything I enter!

Anyone,

Please try clicking on the links below to see if you get an error.

The URL that cannot be found is:
http://www.equipped.org/search.htm

The URL that cannot be found is:
http://forums.equipped.org/cgi-bin/etslinklaunch.pl

Both of them error out for me.

when i just wander onto the main ETS FORUM page i see there is a

"Where do you want to go on ETS?" drop down box that has

"Search ETS" as one of the choices.

this is the link that gives the error messages described above.

when i wander onto the main ETS HOME page there is a search feature box - upper left hand corner - wherein one can search all of ETS for your topic.

when i SIGN IN to the ETS FORUM there is now a dedicated

"SEARCH" box

where one can search the FORUMS for your topic of interest.

hence the confusion.

whew. my head hurts.
