I've searched on this subject with no luck <img src="images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />.....

I know many of you have great ideas and suggestions on packing techniques for your BOBs and survival tins. Please offer any tips...as I'm always trying to find ways to fit more in less space.

I am always on the look out for smaller objects that save space. I think that there is a point of diminishing returns though. I have two PSK's. One backs the other up and each can stand alone. I have one like the one that everyone carries on this site and I have another like the one that Cody Lundin talks about in his book. And I actually prefer Cody's! If I get too small, my big clumsy fingers cause things to fall on the goround and be lost forever. This happened to me on a test run of my kit during a camping trip. But I am still hooked on the small stuff, so I personally look for things that are as small as I can get that are still big enough for my butter fingers to operate. Photon lites, boy scout hot sparks, scalples vs other blades, etc.

I also use smaller containers, like the ones you can buy at the container store and keep my smller items in a smaller container inside my PSK's. That way I minimize loss of gear.

For my Lundinesque kit, I didnt even bother with the smaller items. All of them are pretty much full size, but I only have the essentials in there. I have found i the past few days I have been spending in the desert, there are some things that I am missing, and need to put in there, but I havent needed to use the kits for their intended purpose.

I dont think I have answered your question, but I hope I gave you some ideas. Let me know. I am little sick in the head right now, and I am not in my right mind all the time.

Garrett
